YOUR VISIT

Families can come at any time during opening hours and in all weathers! There is no charge as admittance is free. Children are welcome to feed some of the birds but some birds are restricted due to their nutritional needs. It can be dangerous and unhealthy for some birds to get the wrong type of food such as bread. Bird feed is obtainable in some of our local shops.

School Trips & Community Groups: As with families, groups are welcome any day. However, if you wish to avail of assistance in relation to learning about various species of plants, bugs or birds or you want to have a storytelling session, these would need to be booked in advance. There will also be a charge for the engagement of a Facilitator or Storyteller.

Tourists: There are a range of packages available for Tourist groups. These are combo packages and can include meals in our local pub, The Thatch and trips to shopping in Ballymena, visit to Slemish where St Patrick worked as a slave Pig Herder or on to the Glens of Antrim, Giants’ Causeway and Antrim Coast. See our Booking Section

We would like to remind everyone that, whilst we do not charge, we still have to maintain the area and the Birds. This is all done on a Voluntary basis and BEWWT is a registered Charity. We would ask all visitors to consider making a donation either on site, online or sending a cheque to our registered office
